This work feels deeply connected to my love of the Australian outback, those vast, open spaces where the land seems to stretch endlessly beneath an enormous sky. I wanted to capture not just the landscape itself, but the feeling of standing in that heat and silence, surrounded by the dry grasses, scattered scrub, and rich earthy tones that define the countryside. The sweeping ochres and golden yellows create a sense of warmth and movement, while the loose, expressive brushstrokes and scribbled mark-making bring an energy and spontaneity to the piece.

There is a beautiful balance between calmness and wildness in this work, and I wanted it to feel both expansive and intimate - a contemporary interpretation of the Australian landscape that invites the viewer to wander through its layers and discover their own connection to the land.
