In this work, I wanted to capture the fresh, vibrant feeling of the Australian countryside, with its lush green paddocks and expansive skies. I love the way colours shift in the sunlight, from brilliant lime greens to deeper, richer tones, with flashes of warm ochre and orange along the horizon. The soft blue sky provides a beautiful contrast, bringing a sense of light, space and energy to the painting.

I’ve enjoyed letting loose with my brushwork, adding spontaneous scribbles, scratches and playful marks that give the work its own character. Rather than capturing every detail, I’m more interested in expressing the feeling of a place and the emotions it evokes. For me, this painting is a celebration of colour, freedom and the simple beauty found in the world around us.
