In Beachside Blues, I was drawn to the ever-changing moods of the coastline and the way the sea shifts between calm and quiet energy. Layers of deep ocean blues and turquoise sweep across the canvas, suggesting movement and depth, while softer, lighter tones hint at reflections dancing on the water’s surface. I worked intuitively, allowing the brushstrokes to flow and overlap, much like waves meeting and retreating from the shore.

Closer to the foreground, earthy rocks and sandy hues emerge, grounding the composition and bringing warmth against the coolness of the sea. Small, gestural marks and scribbles add texture and life, echoing seaweed, foam and the subtle details you notice when you pause at the water’s edge. This work is about that gentle, reflective moment by the beach where the sound of the waves slows your thoughts and the blues of the ocean soothe the senses.
